Tangadi is a native, floral tea with immense health benefits. As it grows in the wild – unaffected by human activity – it turns out to be more beneficial than other ‘organic’ teas. The flowers are sustainably harvested in the dry shrublands, sorted out, dried and powdered — all by local women.

Best diabetic, herbal and locally available tea.

Description

Tangadi can be a healthy substitute for conventional tea. It is caffeine-free as it does not contain ‘tea’ (Camellia sinensis) leaves, yet provides similar taste.

Tangadi is a mildly bitter tea. With a pinch of cardamom or a few drops of lemon and honey, it can be a refreshing tea to relish on.

Harvest

The flowers are collected in the uncultivated lands of the Deccan Plateau. They are then sorted out, dried and packed by five local village women over a cup of tea and ele adike (paan).

Consuming tea that is readily available in one’s immediate surroundings has tremendous ecological benefits – prevents land degradation, pressure on water, energy, and labor. Furthermore, as it is a wild harvest, it is completely organic, natural and nutritionally dense.

Benefits

Tangadi tea balances sugar level, body heat and menstrual cycles in women. It helps body fight against microbial infections, specifically in the throat and urinary tract. Effective for diabetic persons & women with PCOS condition. Generally beneficial for everyone as it is a rich source of antioxidants.

Persons who have undergone recent surgery and pregnant women are advised to avoid.

Love the tangy and refreshing taste. A very good option as a caffeine-free (herbal) tea both with or without sugar or honey. I liked it without. Will recommend it to anyone interested in healthy herbal teas.
